5S Implementation – Complete Course

STEP – 5 SUSTAIN

In this article and associated video I have covered step 5 of 5S implementation, step five of 5S implementation is called SUSTAIN and SHITSUKE in Japanese.

Since 5S implementation is based on PDCA principle so the system has to be evolved where each step becomes part of daily work routine and workers need not be instructed time and again on what to do.  It is a commitment to actively do all parts of 5S, not just the first two or three. It is a commitment to not sit back, rest and think the job is done, but instead to change habits and create a new standard of work place cleanliness and organization.

Check detailed lecture here.
